Survival Swimming is designed for an accident or emergency. What would happen if you slipped near a pool and fell in. Easy to think you would just swim to the edge and hop out. But what if you fell in and choked on water and you lost your sense of direction and the water in your eyes don't let you see clearly. Panic usually sets in at this point if you are not prepared. This is when Survival Swimming comes in to the rescue. Be prepared and learn the basics. You can save your own life as well as others around you.
Fear of water is real. Every year I train several kids & adults to get rid of the fear of water. Using specific techniques that will focus on relaxation, over riding your sympathetic system (activating the sympathetic system) and understanding the principles of your body in a body of water. Once you learn these tools, your view of water will change and you will start to be more curious on interacting with any body of water.
Learning to swim from point A to point B is how I describe learning to swim. If you are a beginner in the swim world, I will teach you the basic of swimming. From there we decide if we want to learn more specifics (different swim strokes), then we will move forward with that intention.
